I was thinking the same thing about Tony...I mean he is great, but Lead Actor nom....he didnt really have anything to work with last year did he?? am IO forgetting something great?

Now Steve Burton...he did a GREAT job last year with all his heroics and saving jake...Michael getting shot....

heck, I cant stand Sonny, but Maurice Bernard did a great job too....

Thnx for posting the list....

Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin, The Young and The Restless, CBS)
love this guy....hope he takes it =)

Susan Haskell (Marty Saybrooke, One Life To Live, ABC)
I hate Marty...and really how dificult is it to act like you dont remember......

Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancelor, The Young and The Restless, CBS)
She really does rock, and so nice to see a "mature" woman with storyline on a soap to actually get them nominated in this Lead category!

Branford Anderson (General Hospital, ABC)
always a Spin fan,...and I think bradford Rocked this character! good luck!!

Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali, Days of Our Lives, NBC)
...wow, isnt she also on AMC...she is bouncing around...I love the new Carly, but GH messed up when they didnt try and make Tamara happy and keep her!

Bree Williamson (Jessica Bennan, One Life to Live, ABC)
I love bree and she did an excellent job with the Tess/Bess/Jess story....I hope she gets it!

All Bradford did for me was annoy the heck out of me.  They need to do something else with him.  I think he has potential but his role as the nerdy computer geek, babbling spin-talk,
clumsy, inept, but with a heart of gold has worn thin.  Maybe he's just on too much.  Less would be better imo.

I could be mistaken but I think the actors had to submit their reels a long time ago.  Just think how long the media has been talking about the Daytime Emmy noms and whether the ceremony would be on TV or not.  I'll be they had to submit before all the great acting of late (probably before Jess/Tess/Bess this year).  Case in point, look how long Tamara has been gone from Days.  I agree I don't understand how Susan Haskell made it in.  IMO there are lots of better actresses on OLTL.  Poor Rogin Strasser.....has she ever even been nominated?  And I love Kasse de Paiva.  Sure hope Kristen Alderson gets the nod in the younger category (which are supposed to be announced at some event later this evening).

I love OLTL but Susan Haskell (Marty Saybrooke) over Laura Wright please! Loved the comment "and really how dificult is it to act like you dont remember" or lay around in a nighty for months.

Truer words were never spoken.
He's more than capable of stealing a scene but I just don't see that anymore.
I've just about lost interest in TG.

I think that the trick is the reel that is submitted and Tony knows how to edit his emotional scenes even if they are few and far between to show him in his best light.  Think of Laura and Luke just before she went to France, ignore all the drinking and filler.  All an actor needs is a couple of good scenes edited correctly.

I think the committee should be people who watch the shows and understand the relationships and see who is carrying the show, not an acting reel that has been culled for judging.

The same people are being nominated every year is exactly why I don't care to watch the awards anymore. The only person I want to see win is Tamara, but that most likely won't happen because Bree Williamson had such an outstanding year with the whole multiple personality thing. I remember the old days when they had the Soap Opera Digest Awards, where the winners were based on what the fans liked.
I think all awards shows are lousy. The people picking the winners shouldn't be some group of people getting paid to do it, but the fans. After all that is what the movies and shows are made for.

While I haven't been watching OLTL (ever since Roger Howarth left as Todd, the only Todd in my book), I read all over how great it has become, I wonder why it wasn't nominated for Best Drama...Just curious.  WHY OH WHY would GH writing be nominated?  Doesn't that kind of go hand/hand with best Drama.  Certainly they have the acting chops, so it wouldn't be due to bad acting.  Also, didn't they win last year, the writing team?  Just doesn't add up, most of us agree, the writing is too repetitive and slowly becoming more and more difficult to watch, and the ratings certainly don't say otherwise...weird.

I agree about Tony G.  He is a good actor, no doubt, but how hard is it to play a drunk, sleezy, cheetin guy.  I think Jane was/is a wonderful actor and has to pull of a scene with a known scene stealer and she does it with ease.  I hate these emmy's they are riddled with lousy rules and judges.
