Brian Frons is trapped on an airplane with YOU. You don't want to bombard him with what you don't like about GH, you want him to really listen to what you do like, what you would change and Why you would change it, stories, couplings, etc. How would you change GH? What ideas would you give him?
However, you cannot FIRE anyone. You can add/create a new character for plot purposes, and are limited to bringing back only one former GH character/actor. The crew, Frons, Pratt, Guza must all retain their jobs.
Give him your best shot!

I'd say that we'd like to see more different kinds of stories. It's so predictable that every sexual encounter will end with a pregnancy which will result in a custody battle. No, we don't need believable. How about some fun stories?? Couples can have problems without coming completely apart and without turning to someone else. I love it when couples fight together against a common enemy - what made Luke and Laura so irresistible. I'd also like to see them write in details and clues that don't necessarily lead to anything - red herrings, if you will.

Also, I thought this spring they were giong to start creating strong family units and relationships. We've seen some of that, but what's up with Ric and Alexis falling apart already? (I'm spoiler-free, so I don't know if it will last or not....)

More respect paid to the women on the show, and the actresses in real life. Less mob stories, less Sonny-centric storylines. No more custody battles, and a rest from baby stories. I don't know one person that tunes into soap operas to see the ongoing drama of a dangerously unsteady 9 year old.
More airtime for Liz, Lucky and Cameron, more Nikolas apart from Emily. Allow Sam to have a life apart from Jason. More scenes of Jax and Alexis and their friendship. Do Skye and Lorenzo for real. Ditto Luke and Tracy. Do what you can to lure back Genie Francis as Laura. Allow TG to play drama more often (how brilliant was he in that coma story?).
No more newbies, and if you are going to bring them on, don't announce ahead of time who they will be paired with. Audiences like to decide for themselves if they like a couple.
More cast intergration, and less rushed, slapped together storylines.

First of all, I would tell him how much I have always loved General Hospital and that I have been watching, with little interruption, for the past 40 years. I would also tell him that at times I question the direction of the show, but just when I am ready to erase the vcr recording setttings, there's a twist that catches my attention and sucks me back in. I would tell him I think that GH's casting is almost always inspired. Mark has a great eye for talent. I would tell him, that although I might be in the minority, I like Jennifer as Carly. Sarah Brown was never dainty and fragile, and although I loved those qualities in Tamara's portrayl, I am liking Carly the schemer and the edge that Jennifer brings to the role. I would let him know that most of the men on GH make my heart palpitate, but they are not the main reason that I watch. I watch to see the firery women, Carly, Skye, Tracy. I watch to see the more fragile Liz and Emily. I watch to see if Monica is going to stray from Alan one last time...hehehe....I would ask him to bring back Genie Francis so that there could be the kind of closure that longtime Luke and Laura fans need. I would remind him that women like to watch other women- that we identify with the trials and tribulations of Carly and the other ladies. That while a goodlooking, shirtless man is fun to watch, it is much more fun to watch if we like the woman he is shirtless with! Tony and Maurice and Steve and Ted are awesome actors and I love their characters. However, to me, Tamara, Genie, Finola, Kristina are just as valuable. And oh, yes, I am rambling, but one last thing, please have the writers continue to remember that Alexis is a Cassidine, not an earth mother....whew.....

And, when an actress wants to negotiate, let's pretend that she is a HE and think about what is fair and what would be considered for an actor on the show. Frons: Whewww! You are bossy and have a lot to say. Why can't you just like what we do with the show?
Megan: Because I have a brain and use it to watch the show. Sure, it's a soap! I suspend belief much of the time. But, come on! A soap is treasured by viewers due to the families they show, the long time character connections and for its fun and varied storylines. Remember that when the next machine gun shoot out scene is planned. For every shoot out I want to see a romantic couple scene or a heart wrenching scene as a result....not just blood and guts. I want to see family members interacting with meaningful dialogue and I want to especially see the parents/grandparents/assorted veterans with more than one or two scenes a month! Because see, if your job were dependent on your age or looks - you wouldn't have your job according to your own rules.
Frons: Insulting!! And, I don't think you really know what you want to see!
Megan: Oh Fronsie, I am so sure! Finally, I want to talk about being salty and get this off my chest. I do have a chip on my shoulder regarding one big issue. Why couldn't Liz & Jason fans have gotten a pay off? Why was the latest "new thang" on the show shoved into the middle of something that had been developing for years? Yes, prior to your hiring as the Prez! Why does this pattern continue over the years with any new actress brought onto the show? I am thinking Sam and now Reese? Sidebar: Backburnering Becky for any reason has been a mistake. Annd, we're back! But, I do believe Liz's story with Jason was unnecessarily cut short, which caused me to hate the new actress who was abruptly inserted. Careful planning for a newbie's entrance would be best for the show.
Frons: Well, ummm, errrrr, huh....yeah...
Megan: Since the plane hasn't landed I have another request. There are many hot men on GH. Let's stop with the chick fist fights and get some of these guys shirtless. Your mostly female audience would appreciate it. Basic rule of soaps: get the hunks out of those shirts sir. Basic rule #2: have a beginning, middle and end to a storyline and follow through. Start a murder mystery, then solve it and end it too!

I would ask him to revisit Liason and give them a story and a real chance. Steve and Becky have such amazing chemistry together, and they love working together. They are good friends off-set as well. Their families do things together. I think that might be the one shot they have of getting Steve to do an actual love scene. His wife has talked him into doing scenes that he did not want to do (as he said recently about a dream scene Courtney had during Journey), so she might not mind him doing one with Becky because they are very good friends.
I would also point out that most soap opera fans are female. We do not want to see half dressed women on our screen for no apparent reason. We also enjoy watching romance, and what they have been showing is not romance but lust and sex.
Then I would remind him that the veterens are veterans for a reason. The fans enjoy seeing them in s/l. No one character should dominate the show. We like a wide range to view. We don't want to be bombarded with one character or a bunch of new characters that we don't care or know anything about.

i'd say it's not all about sonny despite what you might think... we don't love him THAT much.. i'd say more ric .. he is a great actor and should be used as often as possible.. more lucky and liz, more funny/light storylines..keep giving jason and sam cute/adorable scenes they work great together and should never break up.. they can have fights.. but they should always work them out....!!!!!have carly stop over acting (she was good yesterday), more q's.. give sam a life that isn't all about jason and babies.. she needs some friends and a job.... em needs to stop crying... skye and lo should be given a real shot.. they are good together...the writing should be consistent.. some days are great and other days are just so dull and make no sense... keep them all great..
and finally i love the show..

I would tell him that I think JB is the best recast since Raven on Edge. Then keep continuing to tell him what an amazing actress she is and how happy I am that GH was able to hire her.
Then---I would tell him that he needs to treat his cast a whole lot better especially the vets.
Becky needs and DESERVES her own storyline.
The women of GH should be the true powerhouses of the show with the men inserted for romance and eye candy

Before I pushed him out of the airplane, I would make a few suggestions:
Jason is awarded custody of all of Sonny's children. He has unwaveringly put the best interest of the kids first. This would obviously cause tremendous tension b/t Jason and Sonny, Carly, Alexis, Ric, the Quartermaines, the Cassadines, Courtney (and Jax by default) as well as put a strain on the Sam-Jason pairing. Sam finds she only wants to be a mother to her own kids, and the kids don't listen to her ("You're not my mother, don't tell me what to do"). Jason then remembers a few of the good times he had w/ his family growing up. No Christmas-reindeer sweaters, though. LOL.
Courtney and Jax would try invitro-fertilization so they can have their own children. We'd see the struggles that couples go through, although it's almost a guaranteed good outcome. Maybe better, we'd see them acually needing to go through an official adoption of someone's baby. This baby can be the secret love-child of someone on canvas now (Georgie? Maxie? Brook?) or some day-player.
Liz and Lucky finally get some airtime so fans can actually see them on screen together sometimes. They eventually get married and Lucky finds out how hard it is to be a step-parent. Now he knows why his own father couldn't handle family life, but Lucky sticks around. Grant Alexander (sp?) from GL is cast as Liz's father and he pairs up w/ Bobbie. Liz and Carly are now related. Lucky and Nik go into business together and they see some tensions arise from doing business w/ family. Nik and Emily fight when Jason takes custody of the kids. Nik ends up w/ someone else.
Sorry it's so long, but it's just a start....

GHH Shirley---I totally agree-especially about Carly and RR and KW! It breaks my heart!
I would add: All women are not insipid little twits that fall all over themselves at the sight of a big bad man! Return your the women on your show the strong independent women they are.
I would also tell him: Most women do not watch the soaps to drool over the men. They don't hurt but we like to see strong willful women just as much if not more. You can't have a soap with female characters--so start acting like it. FIRST, respect your female fans and female cast and alternate the last scene of the opening sequence between the group of all male charaters and a group of all the female characters. The current last scence is insulting!
I would conclude with: while we the fans love GH, some of us could live without it if you push us to far. Work to keep the talented actors you have and write for them. I would rather you spend more money to keep them then bringing in new people. If you alienate and loose some major players you are going to alienate fans.
Oh and by the way Frons, from this high up you will pass out before you hit the ground so it won't hurt. Toodleoo!!!

The rule to bring back only one former character is a little tough to play by, but I’ll try… If I can only bring back one character my temptation is to bring back Laura, but she might escort my beloved Luke off the show, so I can’t risk that…. Hmmmm… I adored Robert Scorpio, but what where would he fit in the mess that is GH right now? How about we bring back Stefan Cassadine (it was a doppelganger in the casket) and make the last year or two of GH his elaborate scheme to take down the people of Port Charles? He replaced several of the citizens, Edward, Carly, Felicia and Maxie with fakes and somehow hypnotized the population into not noticing. Luke foils his evil plan everything is back to normal. Hey, it could happen…

NuCarly "supporters" say that she is more like SB's Carly. Well, the character of Carly changed with TB; she grew, she matured. Basically I see JB's version as a regression of Carly, without explanation. Suddenly, Carly has reverted back to her old ways without warning and without reason.
To BF I would also say:
"Balance" - look up the meaning in the dictionary. Ditto "ensemble cast" and "mysogyny".
I would ask him how many viewers of GH, other than himself, he thinks are men? Then I would ask him what kinds of stories he thinks women viewers want to see? I might even ask him what demographic he is trying to reach, and what he thinks they want to see?
I would tell him to watch Y&R a few days a week, just to get a some ideas.
I would also thank him for creating the character of Lorenzo, and for his future SL with Carly.
I would advise him to break the bank, and get back VM and either SB or TB. It would be a ratings bonaza.

First of all there is no way I would be able to sit next to the man without committing a crime punishable by life in prison at best and possibly death which I am not even remotely willing to endure for the sake of GH.
That being said I would give the seat to my husband who would be able to explain to Frons that he is sick to death of listening to his wife complain about how her favorite show has been chopped up and spit out so many times she can't even recognize it anymore. He would explain how he used to come home from work and she was happy, sometimes almost giddy, and would happily sneak in a few of her fave moments from the days show even though she knows he could care less. But then he would go on and detail how now he comes home and his wife is bitter and sometimes downright angry at the lack of a consistent storyline and the bizarre recoupling of characters; and don't even get him started on the dark day when his wife found out one of her fave actresses would be leaving and replaced within a day or the day she found out a new major storyline which at first looked promising would be played out by two new actresses - as if ditching people that have been on the show for years makes no difference. I am not sure this would make a difference but just in case I would instruct my husband to drop a couple of subtle hints that he has mob ties and knowing Frons' mob obsession maybe he would pay attention.

kimberann-The reason I've been hearing is so when Carly accuses of Reese of being her dead friend Charlotte, who came to PC to sabatoge her life, no one will believe her, but it will be true. Plus, even though I agree with you that Tamara matured Carly, no other character ever seemed to notice the change. lol It was weird. Remember that conversation between Emily and Sam when Emily was warning Sam about Carly. I was like who in the helk is she talking about??? Carly hasn't acted like that for years. Well, here she is again, acting like that. lol

I would explain to him that DOOL and GH were the only soaps I have ever watched and that several years ago I quit watching DOOL and have never been able to go back. Mainly because all my favorite characters were slowly removed or were no longer recognizable to me. Interesting that this occured during his reign at NBC. Also interesting that something similar is happening now with GH. I am so close to the end and it makes me sad. By the way Mr. Frons, the only thing that keeps me hanging on is that Liz may get a great story.

I would ask if he would hire me because it is so obvious that GH needs someone on staff to act as a historian for upcoming story lines instead of just making it easy on the writers as they change GH's history to fit their story telling.
If that can't happen, then I would ask him how I can get one of those things that transports people from New York to Italy and then to Sonny's private island in a matter of minutes.
And since this is a long flight, I would open up my computer and make him read the GHII message boards.

I would tell him that I would have written Luke into the Michael needing therapy s/l.
I would have had Carly be more concerned about Michael needing therapy instead of trying to get revenge on Sonny and ignoring her child. I would have written some real emotional scenes with Carly and Sonny on opposites of a line in the sand over getting Michael into therapy. That would have made much more sense than what we have been seeing, and it would be truer to the characters.
I would have had Carly go talk to her mother about the conflict she was having with Sonny to get Michael into therapy (giving us at least one scene with JZ).
The next scene would have been either Bobbie venting to Luke about Carly and Sonny's conflicted views on getting Michael therapy (giving us a JZ/TG scene), or Carly and Bobbie could have talked to Luke together (giving the fans a scene with Carly and Luke like they have always wanted to see).
I would have had Luke go to Sonny (so we would get some more great TG/MB interaction), and Luke could have explained to Sonny how Laura's father made sure she repressed a murder she committed as a youth, and when it spilled out, she killed her father and ended up catatonic. Luke would finally convince Sonny to get Michael the help he so desparately needs.
I would have loved seeing Luke get through to Sonny. It would have also finally made Laura's awful exit from GH not be in vain.
Finally, since none of that happened, I would have Monica find out what Alan is up to. I would love to see her give Alan what for. Also, once she knows that Michael has remembered killing AJ, she would absolutely make sure that Michael got real help.
Since this would have required lots of scenes with veterans, I guess that is why it could have never happened.

I would ask for more interaction between the characters - and not to have so much emphasis on the "Sonny and the mob" storyline. It gets so depressing after a while.
I wish he would give Lorenzo and Jax some backbone - and not just write for them to "prop" Carly and Courtney.
I would also ask for a Skye / Jax / Lorenzo triangle. I think that would be interesting.
My last wish would be that the surrogate mother story line would not occur. It sounds - from the spoilers - like it will be a disaster.

I'd tell him how disappointed I am in the way things are going with GH and how I no longer recognize the soap I've loved for years.
I'd tell him to recast Carly again, namely with someone who better fits the role in look, mannerisms, and energy.
I'd ask for a greater emphasis to be placed on family relationships because I truly miss the Q's and Spencers.
I'd let him know that I want more of Tracy, Luke, Skye, and Coleman and less of Sonny and Jason's mob mumbojumbo.
I'd tell him how much I love Lorenzo and how I really wish that he could be given a new love interest because I no longer enjoy him with Carly (esp. with Tams gone).
I'd tell him that the teen scene is not interesting in the least, except for Dillon & Georgie, who only hold my interest half the time. Fronsie, remember the days of Jagger, Karen, Brenda, and Jason??? Yeah, think hard because those were really awesome teen stories!
I'd ask him to send Alexis, Sam, and most of all Emily to some deserted island where they'd never be heard from again.
I'd get Michael some friends his own age so that he wouldn't always worry what's going on with Jason, Sonny, or Carly.
I'd make sure Ric and Reese have a romantic future together because they are great couple material.
I'd give Courtney and Jax a baby so that they could finally realize that life isn't all champagne and caviar and that there are real responsibilities that come with being married.

No more babies for a while please. I watch soaps for
entertainment, pregnancy storylines and babies are not my idea of an afternoon get away. I keep hoping that Mikey will be shipped off to a military academy.
Stop trying to make Emily into another Robin and always being the all knowing, all seeing, all goodness and grace vision of perfection. It was annoying the first time around and this time it's more so.
Give us some adventure storylines. Remember the Jason/Liz storyline with Liz trapped in a crypt. Would have been perfect if they had not ruined it with the Z factor. Luke/Laura, Felicia/Frisco- those were all great
stories and adventures.
Bring back Stravos! Dropping that storyline because GH didn't have enough guts to do it post 9/11 was the beginning of GH's downward spiral. Follow through, and end a storyline sooner if it's not working, but beginning with this storyline and then following the arrival of Frons and GAP, storylines were chopped up and ended so illogically, fans are still trying to figure out what happened.
Don't forget history. Your fans don't, so quit re-writing it.

Older people (ie. vets) can have great storylines too. Just take a look at OLTL - Viki with the heart troubles and the wacky daughter, Dorian and David, Asa with his typical vendetta and what-not, Nora and her gay husband, Bo out solving crimes and such - and I'm sure there are some I missed.

Wow, great idea for a thread! I would have quite a list of things to get off my chest regarding the show. Some good, some bad, but I guarantee he'd be sick of listening to me by the end of it.
I would open with this, "Hello, I'm Lewis. I'm 20 yrs old and I'm a vet-cast fan. Why don't I see more of them???" Most of my favorite characters are in the background now and that just seems unfair to me. They have so much talent and I would make sure by the time Frons got off of that plane, he realized it. I would do whatever it takes, up to and including writing the words, "Leslie Charleson Rules" on his forehead in red marker. Monica, Alan, Audrey, Tracy, Luke, Bobbie, Lesley..... they are all amazing, but they haven't seen front burner material in years! I grew up seeing those characters on the screen. They're the ones I want to watch now! They are the history of GH and should be treated with respect.
The next thing I would do is express how crushed I was when Heather left. Robin Mattson is such a great actress and totally sweet person. I loved watching her last summer! Few characters have become instant favorites, but she was. I was immediately fascinated by the mystery surrounding her story and that wicked, creepy vibe she gave off so well. I would suggest that she come back to try rebuilding a relationship with Steven. Or maybe even as momma to Jodie! They kind of remind me of each other, cool and a little scary at the same time. I could totally see them being related.
Another thing I'd be sure to ask is why GH doesn't have location shoots nearly as often as the other two shows. I love seeing them leave behind the cheep looking cardboard sets and really go outside! It adds so much to a scene, just seeing a tree that didn't once have a price tag attached to it! Erica and Jackson's AMC wedding was amazing to me! I'd ask why nothing like that is ever seen on GH. And speaking of Erica, there's a long-time cast member who gets her rightful share of respect! GH should give that a try some time.
Ah, the opening. "Why aren't there two versions like OLTL?", I would ask curiously. One should end with the men (as it currently does) and the other should end with the women. Come on, lets be fair! Some of the most interesting people on the show are women. Why cut them out? It just makes no sense to me!
I'm sure by this point Mr. Frons would be taking a cat nap. So I'd wake him up and continue. I tend to ramble when talking about any of this stuff, but I would switch gears to keep his interest. I feel I would also want to mention the stuff the show does right. There is a lot of that if you can just get past some of the above glaring errors.
I'd mention how much I enjoyed the hotel fire. It was a big, action packed story that involved most of the characters, and had some location scenes and CGI. That was one of the best sagas I've seen since I started watching. The haunted Quartermaine mansion story would also come up because that was one of the few times my favorite family seemed to be central characters. Lila's funeral was also very well done. Sad, but a wonderful tribute to the kind-hearted Q. I like the recasting job they've done with Carly as well. Jen Bransford is perfect for the role, in my opinion.... unlike certain other recasts. I would turn and pretend to cough while saying the name Felicia. Getting back to my point of positive things about the show, I would name off some couples/friendships/pairings that I enjoy seeing on my screen (of the ones they currently being written for, that is). Luke & Skye, Mikey & Jodie, and Dillon & Georgie. I think Carly & Lorenzo have potential together, if they ever break away from Sonny's story. Not a big Lo fan, but hey. At least this is something different.
This next thing would be more of a question, but kind of a complaint at the same time. Why aren't Lulu's feelings ever explored? She's bound to be missing her mom by now, Luke takes off at least every six months, and she spent an entire summer being baby-sat by a psycho with a crush on dear ol' dad. I would think those things would inspire some kind of a story for her; something!
Before I forgot, I would whine at the top of my lungs, "I miss Helena!".
Lastly, I'd ask him to give me one shot at making my dream come true. I've always wanted to become a head-writer for General Hospital. I would make a little deal with him. If he were to let me intern alongside GaP for one week, writing a few stories the way I feel they should be, then that week would be without pay. Then if what I did caused the ratings to increase, he would agree to let me work there full-time as a third head-writer. Personally I feel that if the three of us were working together, GH would actually be a balanced soap. I really do. They seem to want to focus on Sonny, Nik & Em, ect. And I want to focus on the characters mentioned through out this post. Put our ideas together and I think it would be pretty good. I'd tell him also that as a writer I would of course want to do certain things my way. That's common. But I'd also listen to what the fans want and sort of weave those two things together. You can't please everybody, especially in this genre, but you can give it your best shot. My best advice to him, with or without me being given my dream job, would be.... listen to your viewers! They are the reason the show has been on for forty... however many years! Their opinions count!!!

WSB... Oh my favorite time with Robert,Anna,Sean,Tiffany.. Also that time brought a lot of great adventures with many of the other characters. Only one I hated around that time was the Alien, that was sooo stupid... I actually have a photo of Robert when he visited a car show back in my Teen years... ummm over 20 years old.. boy feel old now saying that...LOL...
I have said so many times that Port Charles needs another Rich, Powerful family so the Q's can go head to head with them.. but that can't make them Pyscho's so they have to killed off.
I also totally agree with giving Vet's more air time.. There are millions of viewers like me that have been watching GH for over 20 years and can totally relate to growing up with these characters, just because they are old does not make them no longer great to watch. Teen stories bore me to death, but I will have to say the only good thing about them is they do make my teen daughter watch GH with me, but she also loves many of the older people...
I have many idea's I would love to tell..

After this courtroom fiasco I would make him read lawbooks for ten days straight. No way would anyone let Alexis who was involved in the whole train thing defend Manny. Where were all the other witnesses who were harmed besides Sam and Jason? No way the judge would have let them bring up all that unfounded nonsense about Jason who wasn't on trial. The whole sentencing was insane. First that he is only found guilty of one count of involuntary manslaughter when the list of charges would have been immense. And parole??? How do you get parole when you never were sentenced to jail/
Then I would land the plane and make him spend ten days iin a real hospital.where people who have brain surgery aren't miraculously cured with a bandaid on the side of the head. And where someone who has had a bullet removed from so close to the spine is up and about and doing all kinds of things within a day or two.
I would finally make him repeat over and over again--GH fans have brains and I will treat them as intelligent adults who want to be entertained with smart, well researched stories.

I would have to say that I would tell him to give more focus time to the vets of the show and bring some more of my favorites back. I'm tired of Sonny and Jason on my screen every day of the week. I am not saying to totally take them off, just tone them down a bit. And how about more focus on the hospital.

If you are going to bring a vet back like Holly, please keep her in character. I don't recognize this woman at all. Don't make Robert a deadbeat father; and he was never so "unlikeable" before. I like him, but this Robert is pretty changed.
I love Carly being out on her own, sans Sonny. Keep Carly mixing it up, and have her interact more with the Spencers.
Why is Soily continuing? Eeek, it's awful.
Give Liz more of Emily's screentime.
I think Patrick is an excellent addition to the cast, and I love Noah's return.

I would beg and plead with him to do whatever he had to do, get rid of whoever he had to get rid of (except Tyler), to bring ALW back. Not one actress on that show is likeable, imo, on a consistent basis. If that was ENTIREly impossible, I would beg to never, ever, ever put Emily and Nikolas together again. GAG!

No Soily! Please end this whole story line!
Keep the newbies to a minimum.
I like the possibility of Sky being pregnant, the character has had enough hard knocks...please don't kill this baby off. It seems babies have an awful chance of survival on this show!
Bring back Laura, Luke and Laura are such a classic pairing (even my husband asks where she is and he's never really watched the show much!)
Where is Felicia, she always seems to be gone! You have two young women with no mother influence...bring back the family concept and give Felicia some time, maybe have her fall back in love with Mac again, give the older characters more story lines!
Give the Q's more air time, without whining written for Alan.
The way that Nikolas's character is written, he's become whiny and self centered and downright hard to watch. Please bring back the old Nikolas.
I feel like I'm either a super mom, or dirt poor, I've never had a nanny watching my kids. Doesn't anyone on the program raise their own kids other than Liz?
Please give Liz more time, Rebecca is a great actress and doesn't get a lot of air time.

I would tell him to stop rewriting history and stop bringing back people from the dead. I would tell him to use the actors and actresses they already have, stop bringing in characters we don't(I didn't) care about-Sage, Diego, Reece, Hannah, Courtney(probably many more, I just can't think of their names!)
There is probably a lot more I could say to him but I wouldn't want his head to explode!!

I would say thank you ever so much for bringing back Dr. Noah Drake. Still love him! His casting for Patrick with Jason Thompson was clearly inspired - great choice -acting and appearance wisewise.
I would ask him to continue to focus on deeper character development. Bravo for the virus storyline, now don't lose the momentum of various storylines, multi characters on screen and intertwining of the residents of Port Charles. One more time - I love the Drakes!

Continue with the balance of diverse characters involved in complementary story lines. Keep the families, Spencers and Quartermains front and center. Revisit the rich history of GH, do not rewrite history to prop up new characters who are not catching on. Make Sonny really deal with his mental illness so he can get better and stop sleeping around, it is demeaning for him and the women he sleeps with.

if you have consistent story lines, when the sweeps come up you wont need to wipe out half of the cast to drum up the emmy reels...or rely on smoking mirrors and stunts to drum up ratings.
use your vets, either fix emily or kill which ever comes first
read what was written the day before to avoid inconsistency and contradictions
watch and learn from some other soaps notice how they use their vets and remain successful
keep tristan!

More Luke and Tracy, they are a riot, and please remember the core family of the show, the Quartermaines. The days they are on the days I enjoy most. If you are going to do a story about someone finding out he/she is adopted, do it right and realistically. Don't have her find out one day and discover her real mom in less than two weeks. GH was always great about being entertaining but still topical and educational (as in the AIDS story). Emily's breast cancer started that way and then was quickly rushed to an unreaslistic end.
People who are really looking for adopted parents often find it a long and sometimes painful process that can be rewarding in the end, but not always. I want GH to put though, energy, and care into doing this story the right way. Then it could have potential.

I would say:
I understand that Steve Burton won't take off his shirt, or it seems be in a bed with his on screen love BUT can't you come up with something besides having Jason wake up fully dressed on a couch when his love interest supposedly has nothing on under the covers? All I can concentrate on is how seriously out of place it looks. Here are some ideas for you...... Have Jason dressed in T-shirt and sweats... or have Jason and Sam wake up on a roof-top hammock. How about showing Jason coming out of a bedroom to indicate he actually slept in a bed, or wake up in a recliner (my hubby falls asleep in his all the time). I'm sure your staff of experienced writers could come up with something to make me believe that Sam and Jason are like normal couples who actually change into something else, after being dressed in formal attire, before falling asleep.

Hmmm...this is interesting. This is what I would say:
I love Jason and Elizabeth together. I have loved them from the beginning and love them even more today. I thnk that they have great chemistry and compliment each other extremely well. They love and respect each other and I truly believe they are a SuperCouple. Thye were the reason I started watching GH and they are the reason I enjoy it so much today. They are a root for couple in my books and their possibilities are endless.
I like Sonny and Kate and am okay with Carly and Jax, but I believe that Sonny and Carly are meant to be together. I love them together and they were my second reason for tuning into GH every day! I have love all of the actresses who have played Carly. I think LW is doing fabulous, but still wish that you had kept TB around.
The character of Lulu is driving me bananas. I think the actress is great, but she is coming off like a self-centred spoiled brat that all young men are supposed to fawn over. Please that is a jagged little pill to try and swallow. It went down hill when Dillon, Spinelli and Milo were all vying for her affection. However I do think there is lots of potential with her and Johnny (by the way Brandon Barash is totally awesome and I think he has what it takes to be the next generation of superhero/heartthrob)
I love Maxie and I really love her and Logan together. I can't put my finger on it, but they have something and I would really like that to be explored. The character of Maxie has a lot of potential, she is unlike any character on the canvas right now and Kirsten Storms is amazing. I think she is one of the most talented actress/actor on GH right now and is incredibly under-used.
Did Georgie really have to die? I really like her and she and Spinelli had a future. I think that it was a missed opportunity. I mean couldn't she just have studied abroad or something? Here is an idea for a return for that character. Since Felica was off helping Frisco, maybe they needed her help with one of their missions and staged the whole thing. Since no one would suspect her as an adventure junkie, she was the perfect choice plus she was not resentful towards her mother for being gone. I mean she is intelligent and obviously had a good intuition when solving mysteries.
I do like the mob stuff, but a bit more love in the afternoon wold be nice. More focus on relationships need to be explored.

I would comment that murder and mayhem aren't necessary for high ratings...and that just because the mob storyline is a particular Frons favorite, it's run it's course and I would prefer more family related stories. I love Carly and Jax together but it's only a matter of time before the writers split them up so please bring Brenda back with Jax. And pretty please - the Nurse's Ball!

Take the relationships you have now: SKate, Liason, CarJax, Robin and Patrick and let them grow and strengthen. Sure you need angst but how about realistic external sources of angst like health and family issues.
I love the hospital stories like Maxie's heart transplant and the wonderful Stone HIV story. Please do more of those.
Find a nice boyfriend for poor Alexis- she deserves one. Also Mike, Bobbie, Ric and Skye deserve some love.
Bring back Noah and Anna and give them another fun SL.
Oh and thank you for creating the characters of Kate, Spinelli, and Diane. They all make Sonny much more tolerable. And thank you so much for putting Luke and Tracy together- they make me smile.
Oh and mostly- thanks for keeping the show going during the writers strike instead of putting on game shows. Have a great New Year.

setting the scene [It's New Year's day. Fronz, sitting next to the window, is thinking of which storyline to redo. I sit down next to him. I order a drink, open my laptop and click on my favorite website, GHH II]
I start to explain to this perfect stranger how down I get over the holidays, just like a lot of people do. I tell him how I usually can count on Thanksgiving at the Quartermaines for a good laugh, but this season GH decided Thanksgiving would be better off with some violent deaths and the strangling of a longtime character. GH also had to have my favorite character, Luke, in the hospital after having a few heart attacks just to remind me that Luke really isn't invincible. Oh well, I tell him, at least Monica did invite Skye to the traditional Thanksgiving pizza and I believed Christmas would be much better in Port Charles.
I explain to him how my favorite show is always uplifting at Christmas. There are the Christmas parties with the ladies all dressed up and the sexy men in their finest. I tell him GH always has one of the vets read the Christmas story, but sadly tell him that Alan would no longer be reading the story because again, TPTB thought killing a beloved vet was worth the boost in ratings. I go on to tell him how the GH actor's real children march around the GH set for the Christmas show and how fun it is to guess which children belong to which actor. The tweens dress up as elfs and flashback to when they were young children doing the Christmas show. I tell him how I count on GH to make my holidays a bit easier with a laugh or two and that warm, fuzzy feeling one gets when enjoying the holidays with my GH family.
I then start to weep and tell him that instead of a warm and fuzzy storyline at Christmas, TPTB decided another extremely violent death of a character, who I watched when she was born under the table at Luke's club many years ago, was the way to end 2007. I continue to cry on his shoulder because in addition to all the real life family pressures and the emotional roller coaster the holidays bring, that GH had to add to all the sadness with violence and death.
The stranger ordered us a couple of more drinks and admitted he was TPTB who decided that the violence would be more enjoyable to watch than the traditional GH Christmas. Our flight attendant walked towards us and stopped to listen to this man as he tried to explain how killing Emily Q and Georgie would make more people want to watch GH. As she served his drink I noticed she was wearing a ring that looked exactly like the one Helena wore. She slowly twisted the top off the ring and dropped the slow-attacking poison into his drink as she wished me and my GH family a very Happy New Year.
