Haven't posted in a really, really long time. RL has kept me away. I miss liason terribly. IMO, tptb totally screwed up what could have been a great mainstay couple. But this is soapland, can I really expect anything better from our GH writers??!!
Speaking of something better.... Genie Francis looks fantastic on the News page!! If the writers have a brain between them they will do the smart thing and sign her before someone else does. Bring healthy, sane, Laura home from France.
I read on another site that Frons is of the opinion that the audience is able to be trained to like pairings/characters and doesn't care that a few "online crazies" think about the writing. I for one want Jax and Carly to stay together...does anyone know what's up with Megan Ward? I heard she was supposed to be nixed but then I heard that she and Sonny are back on. I'm not invested in one or another. I used to like Kate but she's being written horribly as of late and wish they went back to the root of the character. And if I hear "I married Claudia to find out who shot you" one more time my shoe's going through the tv!!
I read what Shirley said regarding no Liason for the forseeable future. I will accept that because I really do not have a choice, but I just want to know why? I will take whatever answer TPTB give me.

To respond to something I read a ways back--some of us women out here like the mob scenes, the action, the violence.Yes we love the romance too, but it would be boring without Jason, Sonny, the Zs etc.
Tony resigned? Yawn. He is gone half the time anyway and they bring him in and out with ridiculous storylines.
I hope when it is time to negotiate with Steve Burton they offer him a deal that lets him do some other projects and be able to come and go like Tony and Ingo.

marctronixx, he signed a new contract! Not resigning as in leaving/quitting, lol.
On the other hand, I'm incredibly happy Anthony Geary has re-signed. To us old-time watchers, Luke will always be "Da Man"!
I wonder what the new hospital will look like. I agree that this might not be the time to be rebuilding sets, what with buget woes.
If soap budgets are so tight, why are we wasting money blowing up sets and rebuilding them? It's not like the hospital is actually going anywhere. Silly really.
I wish Leyla could just go off into the sunset with her fiance. Why kill her off, that too is pointless.
Don't care at all about TG resigning. I'm not jumping for joy and that's sad because he use to be one of my faves. If he can get those long breaks then why can't GF be afforded the same treatment? I have completely lost interest in him and his pairing with Tracy hasn't help either.
Why not blow up the hospital? Kelly's was destroyed and that's been around for ages too. Yes, they are rebuilding Kelly's. Wonder if it will look the same or be entirely different.
I can't believe how much it upsets me that they are going to destroy the hospital. I know it's just a show, but it's a show that I watched with my grandmother and my mother my entire life, and I've watched it deteriorate to a point that its almost too painful to watch. Liason is wrecked, and it's just adding insult to injury (for me), but I guess it just makes sense, Guza's been intent on wrecking GH, so why not really wreck GH. I know it will be rebuilt, but come on.
It's kinda symbolic. . . .the show doesn't really focus on the hospital, so burn it down. Maybe as it gets rebuilt, so will the focus on the hospital. Just a thought.
I also agree with the question of why set everything on fire just to have to spend the money on new sets. That Nurse's Station set was an icon of the show and now it's going to be gone? Unreal! Also, didn't they just spend money redesigning all the sets in the hospital so it all looked more modern? What a waste of money that could go to pay for the talent!

Fiery storyline gives producers chance to remake long-standing set
LOS ANGELES - The prognosis for the medical facility depicted for the past 45 years on ABC’s “General Hospital” isn’t good.
The daytime soap’s long-standing hospital set is flat-lining as part of an explosive story line. Following a fiery crisis, the show’s crew has ignited the clinical den of drama, and producers plan to construct a totally new interior.
“This story really became an opportunity to take a shot at revising the look of the hospital and refreshing it,” said executive producer Jill Farren Phelps. “It felt like the right time to update it. The style of the nurses’ station has been the same for 45 years. In daytime, space is money. This new version will incorporate a lot of usable new space.” (Ok this is BS, I've been watching the show my whole life and I am only 39, they've updated the set before)
The fresh new set, created by production designer Chip Dox, will debut in April. (April?!?! Ok so realistically it would take time to remodel and I guess they are doing this just in time for May sweeps but I know they are going to hear quite the uproar from the fans) It will incorporate several expansive elements, including a nurses’ station, emergency room, hospital room, elevators and stairs. Farren Phelps said that on the show, the wealthy Quartermaine family will donate the cash necessary for the hospital’s plastic surgery. (wow, a Q family bit of storyline, thanks for throwing us a bone Guza)
“It will have a very different look,” Farren Phelps said. “We want it to feel like you are walking into a place that feels fresh and modern. It will still be inside the same hospital. It will have the same architecture, but it will no longer be that big round nurses’ station we’ve become nostalgic about over the years.”
Since the show’s 1963 debut, the nurses’ station set has frequently been home to soapy drama — from a visit by the evil Helena Cassadine, famously played by “General Hospital” fan Elizabeth Taylor in 1981, to last year’s over-the-intercom proposal by Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) to Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) when both the doctors were on duty.

I am so irritated by Guza. Was he feeling threatened by the success of Nightshift 2? Can't have a venue for the doctors and nurses or any of the medical drama. He needs to go and he needs to go now!
This would only be interesting if they give the doctors and/or nurses the opportunity to go work at that "other hospital" in Port Charles, Mercy. Think of how it might be to see Patrick going in ego blazing about his surgical skills and some other doctor (most likely a female in my head LOL) would want to prove him otherwise! Then, just as things get too heated, GH is ready to open again and they would want to attempt to "steal" those other fabulous doctors and nurses they met at Mercy. One can dream, I guess! 
Since they are revamping GH and Kelly's they should also re-do the opening montage, give us back the previews and kill off a few annoying characters...Please Guza painfully kill off LooLoo, Sam, Nadine, Kate, Olivia and Claudia...for starters.
You know as much as I have disliked Elizabeth, or anyone for that matter, in the past I've never posted anything on her about killing her off as a courtesy to her fans and the actress.
I guess to each their own.
I cannot believe they are distroying the hospital.GH really needs new people to run and write the entire show.I would watch this soap with my mom when i was a little girl (both my kids sometimes watch it with me now)
I remember the hospital in all its glory.This is just a shame!
